Multiple people have suffered serious injuries after a man allegedly crashed a semi-truck into a Department of Public Safety office in Brenham, Texas on Friday. That suspect is now in custody, according to ABC News.

The man was apparently denied a commercial driver’s license on April 11 and “returned today with the intent to harm,” a statement from Washington County Judge Mark Keough read. Photos and video from the scene show a ton of damage to the front of the Texas DPS office, and the Texas Rangers say they are investigating the incident, but there is no further threat to the community, ABC News reports.

The Texas DPS can be thought of as the state’s DMV. It’s responsible for Texas’s statewide law enforcement and driver’s license administration.

“We believe this was a criminal act,” Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak told CNN.

Ariel footage from the outlet shows an 18-wheeler with a flatbed trailer loaded with what looks like rebar. DPS sent out a statement saying “A commercial motor vehicle ran into the Brenham DPS office,” it added that people should stay away from the area so “investigators and medical personnel could respond”

This is a developing story, and Jalopnik will continue to update it as more information becomes available.
