Isuzu Ute Australia has admitted it needs to start investigating the potential of introducing a branded approved accessory partner like Ford does with ARB accessories.

“Yeah, that’s one of the areas we need to study,” said Isuzu Ute Australia director of service and after sales Ryosuke Takeishi.

“So far we don’t have a judgement yet, but yes that’s going to be one of the areas.

“It might be a great opportunity for us.”

Isuzu Ute Australia PR manager Mark Harman pointed out the company already has partnerships with Rhino-Rack for roof racks and awnings, as well as Clearview for towing mirrors. These accessories are available for fitment by dealers on the D-Max and MU-X.

The company also offers a range of its own general accessories including bull bars, side steps, snorkel, trays, and tonneau covers, among others.

At this stage it’s unclear which off-road accessory company Isuzu would consider partnering with. Examples could include ARB, TJM, or Ironman 4×4, among others.

Key rival Ford launched its collaboration with off-road accessory company ARB in 2021 to sell aftermarket add-ons through its national dealer network.

The modifications available for the Ranger and Everest are available for purchase and fitment at Ford dealers. They’re labelled as Ford Licensed Accessories, and are covered by the full five-year Ford factory warranty.
