Everyone has a dream garage, the set of vehicles you’d pick out if money were no object. But if you start to place budget restrictions, size limits, or both on a dream garage, you start to see what a person truly values. This week, we’re placing a very broad limit on your dream garage. You can have any vehicles, for any price, but you can only pick four to keep for the rest of your life. What’s your dream four-car garage?

My pick is split right down the middle between bikes and cars, with two of each. Each vehicle is differentiated from the other three, so there’s minimal overlap and maximum potential use cases — I want to do it all. So, my four vehicles are:

  • 1975 BMW R60/6
  • 2020 Husqvarna 701 Enduro
  • 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser
  • 2021 Toyota Supra

The BMW is a fun, mechanically simple around-town bike to tinker on, plus it has the benefit of matching Elspeth Beard’s round-the-world rig. The Husky is a lightweight way to crush BDRs, and the Land Cruiser is a comfy way to get anywhere in the world. The Supra may be my most divisive choice of the bunch, but I stand by it — it’s a gorgeous, fun, driftable car.

That’s my pick for a perfect four-vehicle garage, but what’s yours? Let me know down below, and Andy will compile your answers later on in the week. I’m excited to look through them on my plane back from Vegas.
