Bryan Coquard prevailed in what was a chaotic finale in the second stage of the Tour de Suisse in Regensdorf. The Cofidis rider won by at least a bike length, launching his sprint shortly after the second 90-degree turn in the final kilometre.
Michael Matthews (Jayco-AlUla) was second, and Lotto-Dstny’s Arnaud De Lie, who shipped a chain in the sprint, third.
The riders began the day in Vaduz, the capital of neighbouring Lichtenstein, crossing the border back into Switzerland while they were still in the neutral start zone and immediately beginning the race proper.
A lumpy parcours featuring two cat-two climbs in the first half and a cat-three with around 10km to go took riders 177km across the north-east of the country to finish in Regensdorf.
