Toyota has cut back the Corolla Cross range to now only include hybrid variants as part of a wider range push for electrification.
This change means the entry price for the Corolla Cross range has jumped by $2860 to $36,480 before on-roads for the GX Hybrid 2WD.
A Toyota Australia spokesperson confirmed there haven’t been any specification changes to the remaining Corolla Cross Hybrid variants.
The Toyota Corolla Cross was first revealed in 2020 and joined the local lineup in late 2022. Like the name suggests it’s a higher-riding counterpart to the Corolla hatchback and sedan.
The Japanese-produced Corolla Cross slots in between the more style-focused, Turkish-sourced C-HR, and the larger and more popular RAV4.
In the first half of 2024 Toyota has sold a total of 5145 Corolla Cross examples. It’s far from the small SUV segment leader – the MG ZS family (ZS, ZST and ZS EV) – which over the same period saw 11,809 examples sold.
Pricing
Entry pricing for the Corolla Cross range has now risen by $2860 as the entry-level non-hybrid GX variant has been axed.
